Minimum Wage Rises in Massachusetts

Minimum wage is going up again! Starting on January 1st, 2023 the minimum wage is going up from $14.25 per hour to $15.00 per hour. Also, for the tens of thousands of restaurant workers in the state, the tipped minimum wage is going up from $6.15 per hour to $6.75 per hour. This wage hike is the final step in a 5 year plan called the Grand Bargain which was signed into law in 2018.

This is just a friendly reminder to keep an eye on your paystubs. I am well aware that the majority of restaurant workers rarely, if ever, look at their hourly wages. If you are reading this article I would advise you to put a reminder in your phone to take a quick look at your paystubs on January 15, 2023. Make sure you are being paid the correct minimum wage! If you are feeling extra energetic put a reminder in your phone to check once a month.
